Imagine a world without these rights:

• States Parties shall take all appropriate measures to eliminate discrimination against women in all matters relating to marriage and family relations and in particular shall ensure, on a basis of equality of men and women: The same right freely to choose a spouse and to enter into marriage only with their free and full consent. (Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women, Article 16, Section 1, Clause B)
• Everyone has the right to take part in the government of his country, directly or through freely chosen representatives. (Universal Declaration of Human Rights, Article 21, Section 1)
• Where a child is illegally deprived of some or all of the elements of his or her identity, States Parties shall provide appropriate assistance and protection, with a view to re-establishing speedily his or her identity. (Convention on the Rights of the Child, Article 8, Section 2)
